Liverpool weathered the crisis of many absences and scored a big victory over Leicester City 3-0 to compete with Tottenham at the top of the Premier League.
At the end of Sunday’s confrontations in the ninth stage, Liverpool ended the first half with two clean goals, one of which was scored by Leicester player Johnny Evans in his team’s goal in the 21st minute, while Diogo Jota scored the second goal in the 41st minute.
In the second half, Roberto Firmino scored the third goal for Liverpool in the 86th minute.
Liverpool raised its tally to 20 points in second place, on goal difference behind Tottenham, and Leicester City’s score stopped at 18 points in fourth place.
This is the sixth victory for Liverpool in the league this season, compared to a loss in one match and a draw in two games, while this loss became the third for the Leicester team in the league this season in exchange for winning in six games.
Sunday’s matches saw Arsenal tied with Leeds United in a negative way, Everton beat Fulham 3-2, and West Ham beat Sheffield United 1-0.
